Built circa 1858, the farmhouse at Faire Farm, was originally a "dog trot" house, meaning that the current foyer was a walkthrough hallway open to the elements. The great nephew of the original owners, Ben Robertson, called it a "calm" house, meaning simple.
The house is rumored to have survived Sherman's March due to the original owners ties to Masonry and survived a microburst in the early 2000s which leveled most of the structures on the property. Today the house has all the comforts of home and serves as a private residence and picturesque backdrop.
Our 2.5 acre pasture is all that remains of the 500 hundred acres of farmland that once belonged to the Clayton family. The red clay produced many bales of cotton in its hay day. Most recently the pasture held rescued horses and cattle.
Grading and terracing the pasture is part of the first phase of renovations to take place here at Faire Farm. Phase One Renovations begin in January of 2024 and are expected to take place through the Spring and early Summer of 2024.
Surrounded by trees and intertwined with gardens at its completion, the "pasture" at Faire Farm will offer a picturesque outdoor landscape to accommodate up to 200 guests and provide a blank slate for the wedding or special event of your dreams.
Seated on the edge of the pasture is an 800 square foot concrete pad that can accommodate up to 100 people. Phase Two of Renovations will see the addition of a pergola and covering for inclement weather.
Phase Three Renovations will include the construction of a Tea Room and Library to house our Bridal Suite.
Phase Three Renovations will also include the construction of the Bar and Game Room to house our Groom's Suite.
Modelled after the Unfinished Church in Bermuda, the lower corner of the "pasture" at Faire Farm will boast a stone, church like structure complete with interchangeable "stained glass" windows to honor the theme of your event.
The completion of the Unfinished Church at Faire Farm will end our final Fourth Phase of renovations.
We estimate a total of four remodeling phases here at Faire Farm's Gardens & Outdoor Event Venue. Each phase will open a new and exciting event space for our guests. The expected dates we have provided are only estimates and we hope worse case scenarios as we work towards building a multi-faceted event space. Should we be as successful as we hope, there will be a final and fifth phase, the opening of the Farmhouse at Faire Farm for tours and events.
Until then, we welcome you to come take a tour of Faire Farm and see how we can help make your special day a dream come true.
